- Feeders get busier as the month progresses.
- American Goldfinches begin to arrive in large numbers, not usually descending to feeders until the sweetgum seed supply is exhausted (usually in December or January).
- Chipping Sparrows arrive in the beginning of the month and will be looking for White Millet at Feeders. Now is a good time to change over to our No-Mess LM Blend.
- Number and variety of wintering hummingbirds begins to build on Coast.
- Resident birds that may have left their home territory return for the winter.
- Waterfowl migration peaks this month.
- Common Loons and Bald Eagles arrive from the north.
- Northern Gannets arrive along the SE coast.
- Fall begins for most migratory waterfowl.
- The fall migratory population of the Sandhill Crane peaks in mid-November.
- Leonid meteor shower is mid-month.
